International Space Station (ISS) from Manchester

The ISS is an awesome sight, when seen in binoculars, or a small telescope. It is quite fast moving, so you will find binoculars easier to use than a hand steered telescope.

There are few better man made objects to watch, than tracking the Space Shuttle chasing down the International Space Station just prior to docking when 240 miles above the Earth travelling at approximately 17,500 miles per hour! When the shuttle is docked, it is quite amazing to think what humans have achieved with the ISS, and the science that is gathered by the astronauts and equipment onboard.
